Controls II

I made a mold by using a coping saw to make a tear drop shape in a 2x4 and then screwed it to a piece of 1/2 inch plywood. I then heated up some old lead 45 caliber bullets that I had left over from my shooting days. I poured the molten lead in the mold and when it cooled dumped it out on the hanger floor. Worked like a charm, try it you will like it!

No matter how hard I tried I could not figure out how I was gonna add the controls to make the speed brake work. Its already VERY crowded under my seats. At one point I had given up on installing a speed brake. Then I found this little jewel! These are pictures of an electric speed brake actuator on a Cozy. I plan to install it in much the same way on my KR2S. I plan to mount the speed brake just aft of the aft spar so it will cause more of a nose down pitching moment. I do not plan to put holes in the brake panel but leave it solid like a flap. It will be as wide as the belly and about 10 to 12 inches front to back.

The actator is from Wayne Lanza. He has a site at Composite Design. I do not have a price yet but will post one as soon as I do.
